DA YOUTH MISSION STATEMENT

1. We will have visibly operational youth structure in compliance with the provisions set out in the respective Provincial and Youth Constitutions, as adopted by the corresponding Provincial/DA Youth Congress and rectified by the DA Federal Council and currently assist the DA with its program of action.

We will therefore undertake the following:
  • Create a position of real influence within and outside the party
  • Create a platform for skilled leaders and to make a real contribution
  • Create an efficient and professionally run structure
Objectives

Our goal as the DA Youth is to help the DA to become a government. We should not seek to replace the ANCYL but develop our own structure to provide the party with strong youth movement.
  • We should give home to young people
  • Provide the DA with the crop of future leaders
  • Defend our Principles
  • We should address issues that affect young people
  • Where we have capacity, we shall strive to influence decision making processes
  • Promote liberal principles and values
  • Influence positive mindset of politics in South Africa
  • Fight against and change political racial stereotypes i.e. blacks for ANC, Whites for DA etc.
  • Revive and open the debate on Apartheid and emphasize the role played by Liberals and liberal Institutions in liberating this country. To acknowledge the ills of apartheid and the role of the above mentioned institutions in fighting it.
