In a reply to a DA parliamentary question, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Tina Joemat-Pettersson has revealed that various meat products - including water buffalo, donkey and horse meat - are being imported into South Africa from Brazil and India.  

 During the Budget Vote Speech at Parliament yesterday, the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Fikile Mbalula without any shame proclaimed: “Who’s going to stop me holding a Sports Awards evening for millions of rands? The Democratic Alliance? Keep an eye on the invitations. The Razzmatazz is about to become a Humdinger. Bring your party shoes, nicest suits and dresses and rock up at the door.”

Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, effectively confirmed that President Jacob Zuma misled Parliament about the deployment of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) to the Central African Republic (CAR).

 It is beyond belief that 16 000 whistle-blowers are today in fear for their lives because the SAPS promises of anonymity are worthless. International hacktivist group, Anonymous, tweeted that they had hacked the South African Police Service (SAPS) website on 16 May 2013 in response to the massacre of 34 protesting miners at Marikana. They revealed the names and details of the whistle-blowers.

The DA welcomes the announcement of an urgent snap debate in Parliament on the recent deaths of the 33 young men in Mpumalanga and Limpopo, which has been scheduled to take place next week Wednesday.
