The DA wishes to appoint a dynamic, self-motivated and goal driven individual, who will be based at our Federal Head Office in Cape Town. The successful candidate will report to the Marketing Director.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Working with a graphic designer to conceptualise and write copy for a range of marketing deliverables including graphics for social media, marketing emails and longer form booklets

• Proofreading all marketing content before publication to ensure a professional end-product in the role of copywriter

• Signing off on all local design content to ensure it is in line with Party CI

• Providing project coordination support for the full range of functions managed by the Marketing Team, including website and social media management, as well as email, SMS, print, out of home, AV and other campaigns.

• Supporting the roll-out of all marketing campaigns, ensuring the smooth operationalization of quality, on deadline projects

Prospective applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Qualification in marketing, journalism, public relations, politics or similar field

• 5 years’ experience in a marketing environment

• Relevant experience conceptualising and writing content for various marketing platforms

• Experience using Adobe Acrobat software advantageous

• Experience with photo, video and audio shoots/recordings in order to support the design team and wider department with art direction

• Experience with proofreading in English (additional languages advantageous)

• Translation skills and experience advantageous

• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom)

• Knowledge of marketing best practice

• Excellent communication and writing skills

• Excellent time management skills

• Excellent administrative, coordination and organisational abilities

• Systematic, comprehensive and displaying excellent attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and within a team

• Knowledge and understanding of the South African current affairs and liberal philosophy

• Commitment to the principles, policies, and programme of action of the DA

• An ability to work effectively and energetically around a demanding work schedule
