Lindy Wilson

Lindy Wilson joined the operational side of the Democratic Alliance in 2010, as a Constituency Operations Manager.

In 2012 the death of an ANC Councillor in the ward in which she resided in Polokwane, the DA nominated Lindy Wilson to stand on behalf of the DA as a Ward Councillor. The DA won the Ward and Lindy Wilson moved from the operations into the Political arm of the Democratic Alliance.

Shortly after Wilson was elected as the Provincial Chairperson of the Province, was made the Acting Provincial Director of the Province, the Election Campaign Manager and continued with her council duties.

In 2014, Lindy Wilson was elected to represent the DA in the National Assembly of the Parliament of South Africa and a Member of Parliament.

For two years she sat on the Portfolio of Social Development, where with the assistance of Bridget Masango, the DA managed to bring Minister Bathabile Dhlamini to book.

In 2016 Lindy joined the Portfolio of Health, where she served for 7 years. She fought tirelessly to stop the National Health Insurance Bill, which was hugely problematic.

In 2023 Lindy was elected as the Provincial Leader of the Limpopo Province, and at the request of the DA members, made application to move to the Limpopo Legislature, where she will become the DA Caucus Leader.

Lindy is deeply committed to the fight for the Constitutional Rights of every South African, and commits to fights for the Freedom, Fairness, Opportunity of all. Diversity is close to her heart and inclusion of all cultures, skills, languages and other forms of diversity, is critical for her.
