The City’s Human Settlements Directorate’s Title Deeds Roadshow is making steady progress in Khayelitsha. Today,12 July 2023, the City assisted residents in Mxolisi Petani, Khayelitsha and will continue to help more residents across the metro over the coming months. Read more below:

In June, the City kicked off its title deeds roadshow in Khayelitsha, where beneficiaries of historic title deeds including residents of newer RDP projects are able to collect their title deeds from the City.

‘Our roadshow in Khayelitsha has made great strides and we have assisted many residents with their title deeds in Mandela Park, Kuyasa, Makhaza and Nonqubela.

‘The City’s Khayelitsha title deeds roadshow will be coming to an end in two weeks’ time and we once again urge beneficiaries in the area to come forward to claim their title deeds. A title deed will assist residents in formalising their home ownership as well as provide them with security of tenure.

‘We have assisted hundreds of residents in Khayelitsha over recent weeks and we thank the Human Settlements officials for their hard work in this community and we look forward to helping many more residents in other areas this year,’ said Alderman James Vos, Acting Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements.

More than 12 000 historic transfers were registered resulting in title deeds being issued

Since 2013, the City has transferred more than 12 000 properties in historic developments, resulting in title deeds being issued to beneficiaries in these developments across the metro.
