The Democratic Alliance notes the scathing judgment of a Full Bench of the Western Cape High Court in the appeal of John Hlophe and the MK Party against the decision taken in September granting an interdict against the participation of Hlophe in the October deliberations of the Judicial Service Commission.
In the papers, Hlophe and the MK Party made various statements labeled by the Court as “offensive, contemptuous and disrespectful”, referring inter alia to the Democratic Alliance, Corruption Watch and Freedom Under Law as “racist mouthpieces for White Monopoly Capital”.
Not only did the appeal fail spectacularly, but the entire process and approach again serves to demonstrate that the only goal in sight for the MK Party is to sow seeds of anarchy in an attempt to destroy the gains made by the Government of National Unity and to denigrate the Constitutional order in South Africa. It also sharply draws into focus the fact that John Hlophe is not only not fit and proper to serve on the Judicial Service Commission, but is also unfit to serve in Parliament.
