It is a sad reality that many school-going girls are unable to afford sanitary towels. To help ensure that no girl misses a day of school in an effort to avoid an embarrassing situation due to menstruation, the Cape Winelands District Municipality (CWDM) annually distributes sanitary towels to needy schools in the District. On Friday, 07 February 2020, Wakkerstroom Wes Primary received their 150 packets of sanitary towels. In total the CWDM’s Rural and Social Development unit will visit 34 schools and distribute 5100 packets of sanitary towels.
