The portfolio chairperson of Community Safety, Councillor Leon van Dyk today received the good news that the Western Cape Provincial Government approved and supports the establishment of a municipal dog unit. This multi-year project will make a considerable contribution to maintaining law and order in our community.
“I sincerely thank the provincial government for their generous financial contribution and support of the dog unit, also referred to as the K-9 unit in common parlance. Mossel Bay Municipality strives to ensure a safe environment for all our residents so that economic growth and job creation can follow, “said Councilor Van Dyk.
Mayor Dirk Kotzé thanked Councilor Van Dyk for his zeal and perseverance and the exemplary manner in which he guides the community safety portfolio. The Mayor also lauded the enormous work being done to serve our community.
