On Monday, 24 February, Alderman James Vos, Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Opportunities and Asset Management had the great pleasure of officiating at the opening of international company, Computacentre’s impressive new business complex in Bellville.

The new complex can accommodate up to 1 000 employees and is a wonderful job creating investment for the residents of Cape Town.

Computacentre’s corporate head office is based in the United Kingdom and provides IT and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services.

More companies are choosing Cape Town because the city boasts first-class infrastructure, sound governance and four of the top universities in Africa, which provide a pipeline of skilled individuals.

The City’s world-class airport, which is currently undergoing massive expansion, our well located harbour which gives access to African and international markets and our ability to transact land to unlock economic potential, makes the City of Cape Town a destination of choice for investment.

As the tech hub of the continent, Cape Town has what it takes to provide a business-friendly environment which grows the economy and creates jobs.

Cape Town has so much to offer. Therefore, together with the Department of Enterprise and Investment, we focus our energy on attracting investment with targeted interventions such as investment facilitation services. This in turn helps investors navigate municipal processes and clear bottlenecks.

A vital step in attracting investment is the power of partnerships. The City has strong economic and cultural ties with the United Kingdom and together, we work towards a more prosperous Cape Town.

The opening of this new office is testament to this partnership and what we can achieve by working together.

As a high performance African business hub, Cape Town is an excellent location for businesses looking to launch their operations into Africa and beyond.
