The DA wishes to appoint a dynamic, self-motivated and goal-driven individual in our unit responsible for Leadership Development, International Office and Stakeholder Relations. The successful candidate will be based at our Federal Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the department head.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Effectively project managing departmental programmes
- In consultation with the Head of Department, administering the department’s activities, programmes of action and team deliverables
- Developing detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Assisting with administrative tasks, logistical support, and meeting preparation
- Providing support and administration for effective integration with departments within the directorate and other departments
- Planning and organising training workshops
- Ensuring effective communication between the department and all its stakeholders
- Ensuring effective record-keeping and reporting of department activities
- Responding to internal and external queries
Prospective applicants must meet the following requirements:
- National Senior Certificate or equivalent
- Diploma or undergraduate degree; ideally in public administration, project management, business administration, public relations, or a related field, advantageous
- Relevant staff management experience, including on project basis or completion of the Party’s Future Managers Programme (applicable to internal candidates)
- 1 years’ experience in an administrative role
- 2 years’ experience in project management
- Computer literacy, particularly MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of liberal philosophy
- Familiarity with email and scheduling software
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organisational abilities
- Excellent administrative skills
- Systematic, comprehensive and displaying excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing levels of priority
- Outcomes-orientated, not simply task-orientated
- Commitment to the principles, policies and programme of action of the Democratic Alliance
- Willingness to go the extra mile, which include working long and irregular hours, weekends, and public holidays where necessary
