Provincial Communications Manager, Gauteng

The DA wishes to appoint a dynamic, self-motivated and goal driven individual, in Gauteng. The successful candidate will report to the Provincial Director. 

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Working together with the DA provincial leadership and the various communication operations of the
    Party in the province, including the legislature, to ensure that provincial and municipal communication operations effectively deliver the key messages of the DA
  • Overall managing and coordinating the communications of the Party within the province and between the province and national, through all available media platforms

Prospective applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • National Senior Certificate or equivalent
  •  Relevant tertiary qualification advantageous
  • 3 years’ experience in a management role
  • 5 years’ experience in the field of media/public relations or communications management
  •  Information system and technology skills required at expert level
  • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the South African political landscape
  • Computer literacy, particularly MS Office Suite
  • Ability to build trust relationships within a community
  • Proven record of initiative, problem solving, and the ability to recognize and implement improvements to systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  •  Excellent organizational abilities
  • Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in more than one language
  • Commitment to the principles, policies and programme of action of the Democratic Alliance
  • An ability to work effectively and energetically around a demanding work schedule
  • Willingness to go the extra mile, which include working long and irregular hours, weekends, and public holidays where necessary
