The DA wishes to appoint a dynamic, self-motivated and goal driven individual, who will be based at our Parliamentary Offices in Cape Town. The successful candidate will report to the Chief of Staff, with an indirect reporting line to the Federal Leader.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• In conjunction with the Chief of Staff, preparing political briefing documents for the Federal Leader
• In consultation with the Chief of Staff, preparing relevant written communication
• Consulting directly with key stakeholders on behalf of the Federal Leader
• Supporting the Federal Leader with ongoing development and implementation of strategy
Prospective applicants must meet the following requirements:
• National Senior Certificate
• Relevant tertiary qualification
• 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in more than one language is advantageous
• Computer literacy, particularly MS Office Suite
• A basic understanding of economics and political theory is essential
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to distill the key points from a large amount of information
• Ability to communicate simply in a way that a vast audience, including youth, can understand
• Strong administrative skills
• Ability to work with large amounts of information in a systematic fashion under tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail
• A strong commitment to the values, principles, policies, and programme of action of the DA
• Self-motivated, self-starter with an ability to work independently
• Applicants MUST be in possession of a valid driver’s licence and have access to an insured vehicle for daily use
