Harold McGluwa

Northern Cape Provincial Leader

Harold McGluwa was a successful and keen businessman, with 18-years of experience heading up his own businesses.  He was also very involved in the sport fraternity in previous years, having served as the North West Table Tennis President, and being involved in the provincial soccer team.

He has always enjoyed working with people and has been involved in community work and politics since a young age.

In 2003, he became the joint founder member of the Independent Democrats (ID). He served in the capacity as provincial chairperson and political head of the party in the Northern Cape and was also a member of the ID’s National Executive Council.

After the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Democratic Alliance (DA) and the ID, Harold was elected as the DA Provincial Chairperson of the Northern Cape during the party’s provincial congress in January 2012. He served in this position up until December 2020, when he was elected as Provincial Leader, and a member of FedEx and federal council.

After dedicating most of his life to politics, Harold remains passionate about growing the DA in the Northern Cape and making this country and the province a better place to live in and work in, for all.
