Thomas Walters graduated with a Bachelor of the Arts in Political Science from the University of Stellenbosch; from the Management Advancement Programme (MAP) at the Wits Business School; and with a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) and the University of Pretoria’s Business School.
Thomas has been involved in politics since he was student leader. He went on to serve as DA Youth chairperson and as a councillor in Johannesburg.
Thomas is currently a member of Parliament and the deputy shadow minister for Rural Development and Land Reform.
He previously served as a member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature and was the DA Gauteng Agriculture and Rural Development spokesperson.
He was elected deputy chairperson of the DA Federal Council for yet another term in 2023.
