REGISTER ONLINE TO VOTE

For the first time ever, you can now register online to vote, instead of standing in a queue on registration weekend. Registering to vote is now quick and easy, and it ensures you play your part in shaping the future of South Africa!

You can only vote on Election Day if you are correctly registered to vote, at the voting station where you live.

To register, we will direct you below to the IEC’s Voter Registration portal. On that portal, you will need to provide your personal details as they appear in your ID, as well as your address, and you’ll need to confirm these as accurate, and upload a picture of your ID document.

IMPORTANT: The picture of your ID document is best uploaded from your device’s camera roll, album or gallery, so please take the picture before you click the link below ensuring that your ID barcode is clear in the picture.

VERY IMPORTANT

Until completing the IEC Online Voter Registration, through the link above, and until you receive written confirmation of your registration being successful, from the IEC (SMS or Email) you will NOT yet be correctly registered to vote. The IEC SMS will include words stating “The holder of ID number XXXXXXXXXXXXX is registered on DD/MM/YYYY in VD XXXXXXXX at Voting Station: ABCDEFG.” Starting this process, but not completing it, and not receiving the IEC written confirmation, will NOT lead to Voter Registration.
