uThukela water crisis

Water outages and mismanagement in the uThukela District Municipality continuously brings basic water delivery to a halt and pose a massive threat to the local economy, the housing market and job creation. Health services are in constant risk, as taps in hospitals run dry unannounced. Residents rights to access clean water are not realized on a daily basis. Two consecutive governing parties have shown little to no interest to resolve the situation while the downwards spiral just deepens. The DA continues to fight for South African’s rights, and will explore all avenues to ensure that the issue is resolved in the long term.
