The DA warmly congratulates Bridget Masango MP, DA Shadow Minister of Social Development, on being elected as the President of the newly formed Global Council for Political Renewal (GCPR).
The GCPR convened late last week and recognises that there is a need to promote cooperation between politicians at all levels around the globe. They have adopted a resolution and GCPR was established.
Masango will now manage this newly established body, which seeks to promote cooperation between politicians worldwide, enhance the standard of ethics and discourse, and to promote global peace and justice. The primary functions of this organization include the promotion of ethics in politics, the focus on human rights and the relief of human suffering through engagement. Furthermore, the focus is on promoting social, environmental and economic justice through policy dialogue, as well as enhancing human development through research, education and training.
The DA regards her election as President as a vote of confidence in her ability as a social justice pioneer and a vote of confidence from world leaders in the work the DA does to fight for justice and equality for all.
