The Democratic Alliance (DA) welcomes the National Police Commissioner, Fannie Masemola’s decision to investigate the attendance of Major-General Feroz Khan, the second in command of Crime Intelligence, at the EFF gala dinner.

This follows the letter we wrote to the National Commissioner on Saturday.

It is essential to ensure the utmost transparency and accountability within our law enforcement agencies, especially when it concerns matters of potential conflict of interest and impartiality. The public’s trust in the police force relies on their confidence that investigations are conducted thoroughly and without bias.

We trust that the investigation will be conducted with the utmost diligence and without any undue influence, and we look forward to the findings being made public and that the real reason for Khan’s attendance is confirmed and who funded his ticket in order for him to attend.
