The DA Youth Federal Executive met on Friday to bid farewell to Nicholas Nyati as its Federal Leader. Nicholas turned 31 on 11 October, making him ineligible to continue in the DA Youth as he has reached the maximum age limit in accordance with the DA Federal Constitution.

The DA Youth FedEx further thanks Nicholas for his dedicated work in reviving the DA Youth and placing it at the centre of youth politics in the country at a time when the organisation experienced challenges.

We wish him well in his future endeavours.

The DA Youth FedEx further endorsed Federal Chairperson, Ndipiwe Olayi as its Acting DA Youth Federal Leader up to the DA Youth Congress envisaged for the last 6 months of 2025.

Councillor Ndipiwe Olayi has a distinguished background in DASO and DA Youth politics. He began his political journey with DASO at Stellenbosch University and went on to play a key role in establishing DA Youth structures in the Western Cape, serving as the Interim Provincial Chairperson until 2018. In 2022, he was elected as the DA Youth Federal Chairperson.

Currently, he serves as a Mayoral Committee Member (MMC) in Stellenbosch Municipality, overseeing the portfolio for Parks, Public Open Spaces, and Cemeteries.

The DA Youth Federal Executive is confident that Councillor Olayi will continue to provide strong leadership in his role as we work toward building structures ahead of the DA Youth Federal Congress in 2025.
