The Democratic Alliance has delivered an application in terms of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, for the ANC’s party headquarters to come clean on their knowledge of Minister Nobuhle Nkabane’s cadre deployment to the SETA Boards.

The DA application will uncover the role in, and knowledge of, Minister Nkabane’s most brazen act of ANC cadre deployment before lying to parliament to cover her tracks.

Minister Nkabane has been caught in a scheme to deploy prominent ANC cadres to high-paying SETA board jobs, and then deceiving and defrauding Parliament to cover it up.

Now the ANC must make public its knowledge and role in this serious cadre deployment corruption.

We will uncover how and when the ANC party became involved in the process or became aware of the process Minister Nkabane was running.

We will also seek to uncover if Luthuli House strategised and cooperated with Nkabane once the crime of lying to Parliament had been exposed.

Earlier this week ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula declared the ANC’s support and protection for Nkabane at a press conference, labeling those holding her to account as “performative politics.”

By endorsing and approving of Nkabane’s lying to Parliament to keep cadre deployment under cover, the ANC again is defending the indefensible – shades of the Nkandla scandal all over again.

The ANC has long run a secret cadre deployment corruption scheme at Luthuli House, and the DA will expose whatever role it may have had in Minister Nkabane’s gross abuse of power.
