Today, 07 August 2025, the DA will undertake an unannounced oversight inspection of one of PRASA’s yards and train carriage stores.
In the midst of a R7.5 billion train refurbishment scandal, the DA promised to lift the lid on the state of carriages and sets in PRASA’s stock around the country, and this forms part of the DA’s fact-finding.
Today’s unannounced oversight will unpack the current and latest findings of the DA, after much investigation and various oversight mechanisms to date.
The DA delegation will be led by Thami Mabhena MP the DA’s Deputy Spokesperson on Transport, and Mabhena will be accompanied by DA Councillors in the City of Johannesburg.
