Mammoth DA surge in George, voters reject ANC failures

The DA secured an enormous victory in George today, taking Ward 25 away from the ANC while more than doubling the vote received in the last Local Government Elections.

This win reflects the voters’ trust in our track record of proven service delivery and integrity!

Not only did Uniondale residents reject empty promises (often shrewdly dished out on by-election day), but they also believe that clean audits in DA-run governments mean something: Public money is spent well to benefit all residents.

The result indicates the continued declining ANC support. Wherever they govern, they fail. Whatever they touch, turns to dust.

The result of the by-election:

Ward 25, George the DA grew from 19.2% (407 votes) in the LGE 2021 to 42.97% (1042 votes) in today’s by-election

The DA congratulates newly-elected DA Councillor Jarques Esau. He is mandated and fully backed by the party to provide service delivery, create job opportunities and uphold our good governance values.

A special thank you to the people of George for voting DA. Your vote sends a powerful message that you want effective governance and real delivery.

Thank you as well to our public reps, activists, and staff for the pivotal roles they played today.
