– Forensic report confirms Tolashe signature
– Signature appointed DG for five years defying Cabinet
– Tolashe told Parliament she did not sign contract
Today’s tabling of the final forensic report into former Minister Sisisi Tolashe’s role in appointing her Director General, has exposed her, and it negates her version of events.
After Cabinet did not permit Tolashe to appoint her DG for 5 years, Tolashe told Parliament she did not sign the former Director-General’s 5-year contract contract – but an external forensic report has now rubbished Tolashe’s version.
Tolashe’s signature was attached to the contract, found the forensic report, by the use of her personal and private password.
The DA has already taken Tolashe to Parliament’s Ethics Committee for lying to Parliament, and this forensic report further supports that. Lying to Parliament is also a crime.
Tolashe may have already been removed as an ANC Minister in Cabinet, but that does not take away from criminal accountability.
This was not Tolashe’s only scandal exposed in Parliament today. The DA has called for an investigation into the circumstances of an employee employed in her residence at tax-payer expense, as a “food-aide” who claims to have been forced to pay her salary over to the Tolashe family. The DA welcomes the announcement today that consideration is being given to our request for an investigation into the appointment and alleged abuse of the food-aide.
The matter of the food-aide was made more concerning today when the Department admitted that the food aide contract previously presented to Parliament was not a standard Department of Social Development contract.
This forensic report is explosive, and it shows how an ANC Minister abused due process and flouted the law.
