The DA will hold our National Manifesto Launch for Election 2026, on Saturday 08 August 2026.
Our National Manifesto Launch will be held in Johannesburg, one of the most significant, and symbolic places in South Africa where governance failure has left it devastated and broken. The hope of turning Johannesburg around rests only in the ballot box now.
Holding our National Manifesto Launch in the City of Johannesburg is a declaration of our absolute intention to govern Johannesburg after the Election.
It will be a political rally, with thousands of DA supporters.
The keynote speech will be delivered by DA Federal Leader Geordin Hill-Lewis.
This past weekend the DA Local Government Manifesto for Election 2026 went through its final approval step when the DA’s Federal Council considered it. The Manifesto is now ready for launch.
In November last year the DA’s National Policy Conference provided significant direction to the Manifesto.
In April this year the DA’s Federal Congress passed a series of policy proposals which in turn also provided direction to the Manifesto.
It is a Manifesto that has undergone significant consultation, an array of expert inputs, and extensive workshopping across the DA.
We note that other parties have promised to announce Mayoral Candidates this week, but have broken that promise. We can only speculate that the internal temperature there is far too hot to play open cards with the voters and residents.
