The Democratic Alliance in KwaZulu-Natal (DA KZN) has welcomed several eThekwini councillors from the ANC.

These councillors joined the DA because they align with our values and they believe in our vision of fair, accountable and effective government.
Both Councillor David Ngubane and Councillor Marco Mbambo have been eThekwini ward councillors since 2021.
Their decision to leave the ANC is a clear indication that the ANC in eThekwini has not only lost the trust of their voters in eThekwini, but they have lost the trust of their internal structures.
The DA continues to grow, and we are well-positioned to attract more voters and community leaders who align with our values: freedom, fairness, opportunity and diversity.
We welcome these new DA members believing that their valuable community experience, deep local roots, and a passion to serve will add value to the lives of our communities. We trust that their work will strengthen our efforts to improve service delivery across the city.
Together with the DA, councillors who are ditching their old parties will find that we are the only alternative for communities in eThekwini, KZN and South Africa.
