This week could be a turning point for South Africa. And it starts today, as special voting begins. I want to urge every DA voter to go out to vote in this election.
For millions of South Africans who want better government, this is the moment to choose it. To vote for reliable services, honest leadership, and towns and cities that work.
For the millions who already live where the DA governs, this is our chance to keep building on the progress we have made. There is more to do. And we are ready to get on with it.
This election will be a turnout election. We cannot assume that others will cast enough votes to bring the change we want, or advance the progress we value. Elections are won by those who show up, so DA voters must show up in record numbers.
You are part of the biggest pool of DA voters ever to register before a local government election. Now we must turn that pool into the votes necessary to make South Africa work for all.
So my final request before election day is simple: vote, and help others to vote.
Use your approved special vote today or tomorrow, or vote on Wednesday, 4 November.
Call your family and remind your friends about the importance of casting their vote. Help others get to their registered voting station.
I believe South Africa can work for everyone. This week, let’s each do our part to make it happen.
Don’t just hope for change. Vote for change. Vote DA.
Working for all,
Federal Leader
Geordin Hill-Lewis
