Feedback on Projects in Modimolle-Mookgophong

03 Oct 2017 in Where We Govern

The DA led Modimolle Mookgophong municipality has once again shown its commitment to ensuring effective service delivery for the residents of the area. A number of important projects relating to water and sanitation have been completed or are nearing completion. This includes six new boreholes equipped with new secured pump houses, a new overhead line, new switchgear and transformers. The borehole project now consists of 19 boreholes in production with an average output of 4 mega litre per day.

The pump station in the Nile has also been equipped with two new pumps.  The leaks at the reservoir have been sealed and the pump station itself will now be attended to. The project to replace old asbestos pipes has been finalised and the contractor is currently conducting pressure tests on the pipeline.

The chemical lab at the purification plant has been equipped with a chlorine gas system and the pumps at the Frikkie Geyser dam have been upgraded and are in working condition.  The sewerage spillage in extension has been dealt with and the only remaining task is to connect the booster pumps.

The Main road through Town has been upgraded with new storm water pipelines, new street lights and a top layer of tar with the thickness of 132 mm.  The contractor is currently upgrading the parking areas and pavements.

The excellent work done to complete these projects despite the major challenges facing the municipality is a clear indication that the Executive Mayor and her team are continuing to deliver the change that the residents voted for in the 2016 Local Government Elections.
