Midvaal Local Municipality hosted a delegation from American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL) on 10 November 2017. The ACYPL is a programme that focuses on international educational exchanges for young political leaders to give them exposure to governance, politics, policy making and culture.
ACYPL visited Midvaal as part of their exchange programme to South Africa. The delegation was welcomed by Executive Mayor Councillor Bongani Baloyi accompanied by MMC Engineering Services, Councillor Peter Teixira and MMC Development and Planning, Councillor Mokete Motsamai.
Executive Mayor gave a presentation of Midvaal in terms of manifesto promises, governance, service delivery and economic development. The presentation was followed by an interactive discussion session centred on economic development, job creation, service delivery and transparent governance.
The delegation thanked the Executive Mayor for his leadership and wished him well in making Midvaal the best run municipality. The Executive Mayor thanked the delegation for visiting Midvaal and wished them a safe journey as they explore Africa.
