A housing project worth R305 million will offer a mix of new housing opportunities to the residents of the DA-led Mossel Bay municipality.

Executive mayor Harry Levendal and MEC Bonginkosi Madikizela officially turned the sod at the Mountainview housing project in April 2019. The project will consist of 725 Breaking New Ground (BNG) units that will be allocated to residents who are on the housing database, including backyard dwellers. The housing project will also yield a further 278 Finance Linked Individual Subsidy Programme (FLISP) housing units, specifically aimed at households with an income of between R3501 and R22 000.

Construction of this housing project will begin in June this year and is set to last 30 months.
