Protem Gets First Paved Road

23 Oct 2019 in Where We Govern

The unveiling of the much-anticipated first-ever paved road in Protem was welcomed by all members of the community as just another example of the difference DA governance has brought to Cape Agulhas.

Not only does the community of the small hamlet in the DA-led Cape Agulhas municipality now have a paved road, but several temporary jobs were also created during the construction phase of the project.

To upgrade the old dirt road, the DA-led municipality made R250 000 available to pave approximately 260 metres with concrete bricks.

This initiative shows that the DA-led municipality is committed to making a difference in the lives of residents, through big and small projects, including ensuring safer and better roads.  Speaker Johan Nieuwoudt echoed this when he said, “the project was small, but the gratitude of the community was great.”
