Worcester’s Waterloo Library Upgraded

10 Oct 2019 in Where We Govern

The newly upgraded two-storey Waterloo library in Worcester now offers wheelchair access, a computer lab, conference facilities and a lot more reading material than before.

The R5 million upgrade commenced in June 2018 and was unveiled by the executive mayor of the DA-led Breede Valley municipality, Antoinette Steyn, in September 2019.

Local learners and the public will now be able to access the internet to do research and apply for an array of things such as bursaries, jobs, training at the Chrysalis Academy and other government programmes.

Mayor Antoinette Steyn said “It is a privilege for me to unveil this newly upgraded library to all the bookworms in our town. This upgrade is also monumental for the learners within our community who now not only have access to the latest reading material, but also wireless internet, all of which will aid these students in the completion of school tasks and various other activities.”
