The Stellenbosch Municipality has embarked on its Integrated Development Plan Roadshow during April. This IDP/Budget roadshow is an opportunity for the Municipality to present the Draft IDP and Budget for the 2017/18 Financial Year, which was compiled following an inclusive consultative process in late 2016/early 2017.
The Council approved the Draft IDP and Budget for further comments and inputs from stakeholders and communities. The IDP roadshow provides the community with the opportunity to engage with their councillors and municipal officials on issues affecting the Integrated Development Plan and the Budget. It is very important for all residents to actively take part in this process as it gives them direct input into government projects affecting them.
Upon the conclusion of the IDP process, all comments and inputs received will be considered. Once this process has been completed, I shall table the final budget for the new financial year before 31 May 2017. The new financial year begins on 1 July 2017.
The IDP-programme began on 3 April 2017 and will conclude on 20 April 2017. The meetings will include all the wards within the Stellenbosch Municipality. The IDP office can be contacted for any additional information on 021 808 8175/8060 or by sending an e-mail to idp@stellenbosch.gov.za
