Midvaal Local Municipality received two Awards for Local Government Initiatives. The Municipality was recognised for outstanding and excellent initiatives in attracting investment, job creation, social upliftment, fighting crime, developing and enhancing infrastructure and their initiatives towards a clean environment. Accompanied by members of his Mayoral Committee, Executive Mayor Bongani Baloyi accepted the Golden Arrow Award and the Diamond Arrow Award. The Awards were hosted by PMR Africa which recognises good achievement.
