Executive Mayor of Langeberg Municipality, Ald. Henry Jansen awarded top achieving matriculants from the class of 2016, with funds toward their tertiary education.

The top three learners from each High School within the Langeberg Municipal area, will receive bursaries from the Mayoral Bursary Fund valued at R5000 for the 1st place, R3000 for the 2nd place and R1500 for the learner who came 3rd in his or her class.

A hand full of these achievers had the opportunity to meet the Mayor who congratulated them on this wonderful achievement, and encouraged them to work hard, achieve excellent results and reach for the stars!

“I believe in the power of education and take pleasure to invest in the future of our youth,” says Ald Jansen.

At the time when the picture was taken, the Mayor’s Office was still trying to get hold of some of the top achieving learners. If you know any of these names, please inform them to contact Mr. R de Jong at 023 626 8200.

These funds are paid directly to the tertiary institution where the achievers are enrolled and can go towards the purchase of handbooks or to study fees.
