Mayor van Staden on a visit to speak to farmworkers

The DA led coalition in LIM 368 has been praised for the excellent work done in a short space of time since taking over the municipality that encompasses the former Modimolle and Mookgophong municipalities. A national NGO recently congratulated the coalition for the improvement in service delivery since taking control of the municipality.

When the DA lead coalition took over in August 2016 only 22% of street lights worked while now the municipality has raised that to 64%.

Modimolle and Mookgophong were previously brought to a virtual standstill by water shortages and electricity supply problems. This led to violent protests in the region ahead of the recent municipal elections. Mayor van Staden and her team have improved the reaction time to respond to both water and electricity problems.
