11 hijacked Jozi properties handed back to their rightful owners

Following the arrest and court appearance of Joburg’s most wanted property hijacker and his 2 co-accused, the DA-led City of Johannesburg has revealed that 11 hijacked properties have been handed back to their rightful owners, with 3 property hijackers arrested over the last four weeks.

“Hijacked properties are a major challenge faced by the City but we are pleased with the progress we are making in addressing these challenges.

The Mayor has reaffirmed his commitment to developing low-cost housing in Johannesburg’s inner city, and says that he will leave no stone unturned when dealing with criminal activities within the City’s jurisdiction.

“We are committed to ensuring that we stop the rot in our inner city and make it a prosperous and inclusive place for our people to live work and play.”
