Sporting facilities for residents of Breede Valley municipality

01 Oct 2018 in Where We Govern

When the residents of Breede Valley expressed the need for sporting facilities in their area, Mayor Antoinette Steyn consulted with these communities and as a result four artificial grass mini-soccer pitches were constructed in Avian Park, Riverview, Roodewa,l and Zwelenthemba.

The pitches are of an exceptional standard and require very little maintenance, they can also be used throughout the year and have a projected lifespan of eight years before the grass needs to be replaced.

All pitches have been handed over to the communities and are ready to be used. The Cape Winelands district municipality will also be liaising with the communities and NGO’s to implement sporting programmes, including the possibility of a league.
