Economic assets now accessible for residents in De Doorns

Residents in De Doorns in the DA-led Breede Valley municipality had something to smile about when 112 title deeds were handed over in March 2019.

Eileen Sheldon, the municipality’s mayoral committee member for human settlements, was present and addressed the recipients on behalf of executive mayor Antoinette Steyn on the day. Eileen spoke of what a proud moment this was not only for the recipients of title deeds as some of them have been waiting for their title deeds for a decade. Eileen also stressed the fact that the possession of these title deeds creates more opportunity for the beneficiaries and that they can now apply for loans using their properties as leverage.

Eileen emphasized that the municipality takes pride in the fact that they can help residents who have been waiting for years to call these houses their own. With these title deeds they can now pass these houses down to the next generation.
