In April 2019, the Western Cape Minister for Human Settlements and executive mayor Conrad Poole handed over 253 title deeds to residents in the DA-led Drakenstein municipality.

The beneficiaries filled the Paarl Town Hall to receive their title deeds and listen to an address by mayor Poole. The handing over of these title deeds formed part of the provincial department of human settlements projects that were developed to cater to residents residing in various communities within the municipal area.

To date, 997 title deeds were registered for the Drommedaris project and 794 of them have already been handed out. Mayor Poole stressed the importance of ownership and stated that these title deeds will be able to open new doors for all the beneficiaries present.

Title deeds on this day were handed over to residents from Drommedaris, Housing Scheme 59-Phase 6, Housing Scheme 59- Phase 7, Kingston Town & Lantana & Kolbe projects respectively. Title deeds handed over are as follows:

Drommedaris: 133 title deeds

Phase 6: 46 title deeds

Phase 7: 37 title deeds

Kingston Town: 28 title deeds

Lantana & Kolbe: 9 handed over
