
The Executive Mayor of the City of Tshwane, Cllr Stevens Mokgalapa, led a ribboncutting ceremony at Soshanguve Block L.
This is yet another opportunity for the DA-led administration to showcase it’s
commitment to consistent service delivery.
Adequate road infrastructure is essential to equipping residents to live and work in
safe neighbourhoods.
The impact of the complete stretch of roads upgrades means communities can
respond positively to challenges such as recent floods where homes are often
negatively affected.
Through this Follow-The-Money initiative, Soshanguve residents benefit through
SMME development, the 38 jobs created here (majority of them being youth) and
the R10 million investment that will change the lived realities of life in Sosha.
Indeed, the accelerated service delivery mandate promised by Mayor Mokgalapa is
coming to fruition.
“For far too long, Soshanguve has been neglected by the previous ANC
administration. That is why I committed to unlocking bureaucracies when I entered
this prestigious office,” said the mayor.
In other site visits, the mayor visited Soshanguve Block CC and Extension 19 as well
as Portion 9 at Hammanskraal for site visits.
Through the above-mention projects, electrification of RDP houses and installation of streetlights is high on the agenda to bring much-needed essentials.
With the first phase scheduled for June 2020, 500 houses will benefit while the entire project completion will see 1500 homes being electrified I’m a partnership with the Gauteng Human Settlements Department.
While these projects are currently in construction phase, the mayor said he looks
forward to their completion in the DA-led administration’s efforts to restore the dignity of some of our most indigent residents.
