Mayor Dan Plato expressed his gratitude for the donation, which he says will greatly assist frontline staff at City Health facilities.

‘We appreciate this donation of cleaning materials as it will be of benefit to our frontline staff, particularly at City Health facilities who are working hard to ramp-up testing and flatten the curve of COVID-19. Our collective effort is needed to curb the spread of COVID-19 and we are pleased that this donation will assist us in this regard. The business community have stepped up through donating masks and food during the outbreak and this is another example of the spirit of compassion and generosity of the private sector,’ said the Executive Mayor Dan Plato.

The donation of cleaning products includes 5L bottles and smaller 50ml and 125ml bottles as well as wipes valued at more than R200 000.

‘Viruses can be spread through contact with many surfaces. Clinic staff can use these products to disinfect surfaces after engaging with patients. It can also be used to clean hard surfaces like floors and their shoes. Our cleaner helps prevent the growth of superbugs. Our products are 100% biodegradable and safe for humans to use,’ said Sneaker LAB Founder, Jo Farah.
