The City of Cape Town recently completed the rehabilitation of Giel Basson Drive with an investment of R38 million to improve the key section between the N1 off-ramp and Voortrekker Road. The road is now open for residents to enjoy.

‘I am impressed with the standard of work delivered by the team and am sure residents will be happy with the improvements. Giel Basson Drive is one of the main access routes in the Parow and Goodwood areas, and links various residential suburbs with the nearby commercial nodes. It is also an important access route to the Cape Town International Airport. We thank all road users for their patience throughout the road works. This investment of R38 million will benefit all of us in the years to come,’ said Alderman Felicity Purchase, the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Transport.
