In June 2020, the City’s Transport Directorate commenced with the rehabilitation of various concrete roads and footways in Heideveld. The project is scheduled to be completed within a year and it is progressing well, with 67% of the work already completed.

The City is making good progress and the project is due for completion by 30 June 2021, pending unforeseen delays and inclement weather.

The following roads are nearly completed:

  • Allison Court
  • Amatola Crescent
  • Bailey Crescent
  • Betsy Court
  • Carrol Court
  • Heideveld Road 1
  • Hogsback Road
  • Ouberg Road
  • Paulsberg Road
  • Zuurberg Road

Work is currently under way at the following roads:

  • Elsa Court
  • Grace Court
  • Heideveld Road 2
  • Irene Court
  • Juliana Court 1
  • Juliana Court 2
  • Linda Court

Works still need to be implemented at the following roads:

‘It pleases me to see the progress made with this project so far, given that it commenced in the middle of the National lockdown due to Covid-19. It shows our commitment to keep on delivering and improving the lives of our residents. Once completed, these roads will improve access in the area and the safety of all road users. As for the neighbourhood, the new roads are aesthetically pleasing, and will contribute to a sense of pride,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Transport, Alderman Felicity Purchase.
