The City of Ekurhuleni has reserved the last Saturday of every month for 60 year olds and above to get their vehicles and drivers licences at all its licensing centers as of this Saturday, 26 March 2022.
The elderly residents will still be able to access these services during the week, but the last weekends of the month will be set aside just for them.
Although these days are reserved for the elders, the booked services including the driver’s license and learners license tests booked for other age groups will not be interrupted during those Saturdays.
MMC for Community Safety, Victor Cllr Moseki urged the elders not to miss this opportunity.
“As a caring City we are trying by all means to have all communities catered for when visiting our licencing centers, especially the elderly and people living with disabilities,” says Moseki.
In the meantime, people living with disabilities are also encouraged to contact the Divisional Head: Licensing – Mr Hamilton Ledwaba and Mr Rodney Goliath to make arrangements for their special and specific needs.
Ledwaba can be contacted on Hamilton.ledwaba@ekurhuleni.gov.za or 0659307844, while Goliath can be contacted on Rodney.goliath@ekurhuleni.gov.za or 0826768230.
