The DA wishes to appoint a dynamic, self-motivated and goal driven individual, who will be based in

Gauteng. The successful candidate will report to the Provincial Director.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring effective and efficient functioning of the following in the province, including, but not limited to:
    • Campaign operations
    • Elections, including national, local government and by-elections
    • Logistical support to political events
    • Analysing statistical information, creating reports and developing strategies based on this information
  • Assisting the Provincial Director with administration, organisation building, persuasion, turnout and registration
  • Effectively recruiting, managing, training and directing all field operations staff

Prospective applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • National Senior Certificate or equivalent
  • Tertiary qualification advantageous
  • Relevant staff management experience, including on project basis or completion of the Party’s Management Readiness Programme (applicable to internal candidates)
  • Experience in an operations or campaign related role
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in financial management
  • Proficiency in English and one other language
  • Computer literacy, particularly MS Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisational abilities
  • Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to apply sound political judgment and the ability to identify key issues relevant to communities
  • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the South African political landscape
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the Party
  • Ability to build trust relationships within a community
  • Proven record of initiative, problem solving, and the ability to recognize and implement improvements to systems
  • Commitment to the principles, policies, and programme of action of the Democratic Alliance
  • An ability to work effectively and energetically around a demanding work schedule
  • Applicants MUST be in possession of a valid driver’s licence and have access to an insured vehicle for daily use
