Paul Swart

Executive Mayor

Cape Agulhas Executive Mayor Paul John Swart joined the DA in 2014. “I realised that this was the only party that speaks to the real need of the people of SA” Paul says.

Paul, a self-proclaimed community-builder, has always been interested in politics. He was involved in community projects and social upliftment programmes for many years.

Born at the Moravian Church’s Elim Mission Station, he is married to Carol Swart. They have one daughter, Zanelle, who matriculated in 2016.

Paul went to the Elim Church School and matriculated from the Albert Myburgh Secondary School in Bredasdorp. After school, he went to Peninsula Tech and graduated with a Certificate in Business Management and Administration.

In his spare time, Paul likes to play golf, go fishing, and spend time on his cattle farm. His personal motto is:

“Always keep it simple. Act with the utmost honesty and humbleness.”

Paul’s vision for the Cape Agulhas Municipality is to heal communities, create sustainable jobs, and build vibrant child and youth development programmes. Let us move “forward together in excellence” he says.
