Solly Msimanga

Gauteng Provincial Leader, Caucus Leader

Solly Tshepiso Msimanga is the DA Gauteng Provincial Leader and Leader of the Official Opposition in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature.

Solly holds a National Diploma in Marketing Management as well as a BCompt from the University of Pretoria. He is also a graduate of the DA’s Young Leader’s Programme.

Solly was previously the DA Gauteng Spokesperson for Sports, Arts and Culture Recreation, (SRAC) in the Provincial Legislature and served on the Education and Economic Development portfolio committees from 2014 until the municipal elections in August 2016 when he was elected Executive Mayor of the City of Tshwane unopposed.

Between 2011 and 2015, whilst being a part time public representative, Solly held the position of Executive Director of Ask Afrika. Prior to this, he was Assistant to the Charge d’ affairs at the Liberian Embassy.

Solly is married, with two sons. He enjoys traveling, reading, music and cooking and does extensive charity work.
