Newly elected Executive Mayor of Tshwane, Stevens Mokgalapa’s, priority is to create an environment that allows job creation, delivers better services, and eliminates corruption.
Born and raised in Winterveldt township north of Pretoria, Stevens is carrying the torch for former DA mayor, Solly Msimanga.
Stevens holds a degree in Political Science and an honour’s degree in International Relations from the University of Pretoria.
He joined the DA (then known as the Democratic Party) in 1999, and served as a ward and PR councillor in the City of Tshwane for nine years.
As a Member of Parliament (MP), he has served as shadow minister of Human Settlements and currently serves as the shadow minister of International Relations and Co-operations.
