Terms and conditions

Competition deadline for entries extended to midnight on the day that the 2019 elections are proclaimed and registration closes. All other terms and conditions remain in force and effect.

 

  • The promoter of this competition is the Democratic Alliance (DA).
  • The lucky draw outcome is final and binding and no correspondence or negotiations will be entered into.
  • All participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  • No purchase is necessary to enter.
  • Competition period: The competition commences on Saturday the 1st of December and will terminate at midnight on Monday the 28th of January 2019. No late entries will be accepted.
  • Prize: 2018 Suzuki Swift 1.2 manual. No specific vehicle colour is guaranteed. There is no cash prize equivalent available.
  • Entry qualifications: All persons eligible to vote in South Africa qualify to enter this competition, except the following persons:
    1. Those in the employ of the Democratic Alliance,
    2. Public representatives of the Democratic Alliance,
    3. Members of the Democratic Alliance Federal Executive, Federal Council, Provincial Executives, Provincial Councils, Regional Executives or Regional Councils,
    4. DA candidates for Election 2019 appearing on any party list,
    5. The immediate families of any persons in bullet points 1 to 4.
  • Entry mechanism: To stand a chance to win, entrants must complete one ordinary entry by completing the entry form on superpower.vote or complete a printed entry form titled “Unleash your superpower and win a car”, follow all further instructions thereafter to complete competition entry, including opening a link in an SMS message, and then must accept and complete a call from the DA National Contact Centre.
  • Multiple entries: Only one ordinary entry per person will be accepted. Referral of other persons to enter the competition may accrue additional bonus entries.
  • Prize draw: The winner will be randomly selected after the Electoral Commission releases the national voters’ roll for Election 2019. The winner will be contacted by the DA via telephone or on the email address provided. The winner will be required to submit valid identification before receiving the prize. If a winner does not respond within 3 days, the DA reserves the right to draw a replacement winner.
  • Winning qualification: In order for a randomly selected entrant to be declared the winner, that person and their matching ID number must appear on the final national voters’ roll for Election 2019, and the person must reflect as required on the voters’ roll. i.e. If they were required to update their registration or to register for the first time, this must be reflected in the voters’ roll. Failing this an alternative entrant will be randomly selected, until such time as the conditions of Voters Roll appearance and registration requirement are satisfied upon which that person shall be declared the winner.
  • Winner announcement: There will be 1 winner. They will be announced on selected DA social media platforms and contacted via telephone or email.
  • Publishing winner’s name: Entrants agree that should they be declared the competition winner, the DA will publish their name and photographic images on DA marketing platforms including any of the DA’s websites or social media accounts.
  • Competition disclaimer: The DA, DA staff and public representatives, and all DA structures, assume no liability whatsoever for any direct or indirect loss, damage, death, personal injuries, defamation, invasion of privacy or claims based on any rights arising in connection with this competition and/or promotional offer. The DA also provides no warranties or guarantees as to the quality of the prize, and assumes no liability for any loss whatsoever and howsoever caused from the use of the prize.
  • Cancellation: The DA reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this competition or promotion. In such event, where a competition or promotion is cancelled or suspended, all participants or entrants agree to waive any rights that they may have in terms of the competition and acknowledge that they have no recourse against, the DA, DA staff or public representatives.
  • System failure: The DA, DA staff and public representatives shall not be responsible or liable for lost, delayed, misdirected, internet or computer malfunctions, errors in transmission or any condition beyond the control of the DA which may cause the competition to be disrupted or corrupted.
  • Any violation or attempt to violate any of the above terms and conditions will result in immediate disqualification of the participant or entrant.
