Here’s an annual address in a nutshell! It was originally delivered by DA Leader John Steenhuisen ahead of the president’s 2020 State of the Nation Address (SONA). (If you have half an hour to spare, you can watch the full speech here.)

After weeks of touring South Africa, visiting communities, engaging and interacting with South Africans, and listening to their daily challenges and struggles, DA Leader John Steenhuisen lamented the fact that…

When in reality…

We need to hit the reset button on the current government and organise ourselves in a new way around common values and a common vision for South Africa.

It is possible to have the things we dream of!
We can have schools where our children receive the kind of education that sets them up for life.
We can have functional and safe cities – free from gangs and drugs – with world-class public transport networks.
We can have an economy that is attractive to investors once more – an economy that grows and creates jobs.
This involves:
- Fighting corruption.

- Freeing South Africa from Eskom.

- Fixing public healthcare for everyone.

- And helping job-creating businesses thrive.

Working together, we can save South Africa!
